Ostrava helps to collect old clothes
March 26, 2019 - Spring is knocking on the door and cleaning the cabinets with it, but what about old clothes? Whatever you decide to do with it, don't throw it away. What will no longer serve you may still serve others. There are several companies in the Czech Republic that operate collecting containers and clothing and shoes are used for secondary use with the aspect of social service. One of the largest companies in the Czech Republic, Dimatex, operating 100 containers in the Moravian-Silesian Region and 1,700 in the Czech Republic, has prepared a weekend gathering event in Ostrava with the Czech Red Cross, their TextilEco project and Outlet Arena Moravia. On Saturday alone, more than 1,700 kg of textiles were collected.
A partner who has fundamentally supported the collection event in Ostrava is OUTLET ARENA MORAVIA. "We are glad we could help good things," said Sarka Kreiss, outlet marketing manager. "For all those who brought old clothes, we prepared a voucher of up to CZK 200, which they could use to buy new clothes," added Sarka Kreissova.
The collected textile will be used for socially needy use and the one that will not be used further will be ecologically processed for further use eg on rags. In 2018, Dimatex collected almost 7 thousand. tons of textiles and handed over 1.3 million crowns to non-profit companies to support their activities.
